artists in creative education

The aim of the project Artists in Creative Education is to create a practical guide with experiences from all participating artists, regarding the encounter culture and school. The unique aspect of this guide is that it has an artist’s perspective and that all the participating artists will contribute to its content. It is based on their vast experience of artistic work in schools.

The starting point for the work on the guide was on a week-long workshop with all participants, that took place in October 2010. The week was filled with both creative discussions and several practical and reflective exercises. We worked with themes such as: what is creativity/creative learning, what do we need to be good artists in schools, how can we get schools to want to work with creative learning, how do we create a good partnership with schools, and how to evaluate and measure creative learning. Below you can see a short film about the workshop in Amsterdam.

The work on the guide will continue throughout the spring of 2011, and the artists are responsible for providing feedback in certain areas. The guide will be presented at the final conference in Brussels in late September and will be featured for download on the website : artistsincreativeeducation
